The GM and a Contest Update

2012 Topps Neal Huntington Auto

The Pirates GM has had a wild ride.  When he took after the Pirates fired Dave Littlefield the big league team was a mess and the minors were barren.  While not perfect an effort has been made to build within by focusing on the draft and the international market.  The Pirates are starting to see their effort paying off as most of the core was built within the organization.  The Pirates made the playoffs last year and are positioning themselves for another run this season.

Contest Update: At last check I have 43 entries in the contest.  Once we hit 50 I will pick 3 winners. If the momentum keeps going past 50 I will make a new milestone for even more winners!  Pass the word around.  The more entries we have the more people who will win.

  1. Wait. Topps created general manager cards? Gotta track down a Billy Beane autograph. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Bummer. Billy isn't in the set.

    2. I wasn't sure who all they made. For the longest time the Huntington would fetch $15-20, but the prices have really dropped. With shipping this card cost less than $6.

  2. Stickers? Really, how hard is to track those guys down for on-card autos? Congrats on the response to the contest!

    1. Seems silly, right? They can get Mike Trout to sign on card autos, but Neil Huntington is just too busy.
