World Cup of Trading Part 2

I hope everybody enjoyed seeing all the great vintage that Wes gave me yesterday. Today it is college time. One thing that makes Wes such an awesome trader is that he really pays attention to your collecting habits. Time to be overwhelmed with WVU hits!

This hit just about every spectrum of WVU you could hit. Obviously some the more well know players such as Pat White and Tavon Austin are represented, but Wes also dug a little deeper. One of my favorites in this group is the Alex Ruoff autograph. Alex played under both John Beilein and Bob Huggins at WVU. As far as I know this is his only certified autograph.

Another card that is unique is the Owen Schmitt card that looks like a yellow blob. These were out of Sage Hit and were called "A Make Ready." Basically it is one of the first printed cards off the press and used to adjust colors and registration. This one is numbered to 50.

Thanks Wes for all the great cards of my Alma Mater.

Plenty more to come!

  1. Now that's one nice bunch of Mountaineers! And I even see some of the 2005 Topps draft I posted recently. I especially like like Bailey '91 Ultra throwback with a great photo!

    1. Thanks Zippy!

I like that the Pirates have been flipping relievers for position players. Wilson is a great arm, but lost his command last year. If he doesn't walk people you have a nice late inning arm.
