VIP and the Baseball Void

Giving my scanner a little break from the onslaught of JBF to showcase just one card today.

2015 Panini National VIP Patch /25

The overly excited kid always comes out in me when I get to add a nice new Cutch card. Almost all Cutch cards I receive these days are in trade. Obviously I would like to add more, but the going rate for the higher end stuff is past my comfort zone.  I'm to the point now where I only look if I have some Xmas money or eBay gift cards. As far as I'm concerned I have a pretty complete Cutch collection so anything else I can add is just gravy.

Price wise this card was purchased for around $10 bucks. If I recall the only reason I came across it was that I was trying to secure an auction for a card that I thought Too Many Verlanders would like back in mid October. I lost that auction, but a three color Cutch jersey is an OK consolation prize. Don't worry Dennis, I just found something even better for you.

On a a side note it always feels like it takes me a couple of weeks to get adjusted to baseball being over. I'll be winding down my daughter and following a game on my phone, or sorting some cards with the game on in the background. I guess my wife and I need to find a new show to watch in the offseason.  Any new favorites that you guys would recommend?

Thanks for reading.

    1. We haven't watched much lately. We may pick up Parks and Rec again.

  2. I subscribe to Netflix and I'm debating on either starting MacGyver or The A-Team as my next show. Netflix has all the seasons and I loved both of those as a kid. Good luck on your decision!
Is it just me or I Cutch framed in by the St. Louis Arch on that card? Gives me shivers picturing him as a Cardinal.

    1. I was a huge MacGyver fan when I was little. My brother once wrote that he interned at the Phoenix Institute on a resume. That is where MacGyver worked. Have you watched the new one?

    2. Nope, I haven't watched the new one. I'm always hesitant watch a remake, because I don't want it to taint the original for me.
Have you see the new one? If so, is it any good?

    3. No. If it doesn't involve Richard Dean Anderson as MacGyver I'm out.

    4. I started The A-Team last night and I forgot how much fun that series was.
As Brad suggested below, you have to check out Stranger Things! My wife and binge watched that one together... first time we've ever binged watched something together and we knocked out the whole mini series in one weekend. Wish there was more.

    5. I really want to watch that show. Heard so many things. Think my wife will like it too. Her and I usually have trouble finding common ground. She is more of a romantic comedy type where I lean drama.

  4. If you've never watched it look up Red Dwarf. Not very many episodes to worry about and you won't have to think too much. Fun and funny stuff.

  5. I just started the Walking Dead (late to the party there too) but I like it so far. If you want a short series that I really enjoyed I recommend Stranger Things. Really grabs your attention, its a great homage to the 80s as well. Just started a new show called Travelers, I like the concept, people from the future transfer their consciousness and are trying to save the world.

    1. I'm pretty well caught up on the Walking Dead. I was a nerd and read the comics first! Stranger Things is on the short list as I think my wife will like that one.
