Trade: Off Hiatus Baseball Cards (Including a 1/1)

If only the Pirates and Brewers could get along as much as those who blog about them.  Tony from Off Hiatus Baseball Cards hooked me with some great Pirates cards from his 2013 Topps Series 2 case break. Check it out....

 Jeff Locke 1/1 printing plate

Jeff Locke has had an up and down career.  He made the All Star team last year after getting off to a great start.  His traditional stats such as ERA and win/loss record was stellar.  With this in mind his advanced stats hinted at major regression was due to come his way, and did it ever.  By the time September rolled around he had pitched himself out of the rotation.  Currently he is pitching in AAA, but will likely join the rotation at some point this year as the Pirates starters have struggled.
Former Pirate and current Brewer Tom Gorzelanny.  I was always a fan of Gorzelanny when he played with the Pirates.  I felt the Pirates let him go for no reason.  If there is a silver lining the Pirates did receive their current hottest hitter Josh Harrison in the deal with the Cubs.
 Clemente!
Some awesome Topps gold!

Thanks again for the trade Tony.  Should be a fun series this weekend with both teams playing well. Look forward to the next deal.

  1. I'm glad to hook you up with these. You've sent a lot of great cards my way already and I hope we continue trading.

That said, I hope y'all get swept this weekend!

    1. This is a big series for the Buccos. We exercised two big demons on the road trip by beating the Dodgers and Padres who both historically have mopped the floors with us. Obviously no team owns the Pirates more than the Brewers so this should be interesting.

    3. Here I was thinking that you were referring to exercising both Gerrit Cole *and* big Vandy boy Pedro Alvarez...
