Trade: Highly Subjective and Completely Arbitrary

My wife left for California today for a long weekend girls trip. That leaves me and my 18 month old here at the house. My hope is that she sleeps well and I get to mess around with my cards a ton this weekend. Fingers crossed!

Blog business...

Brian from H.S & C.A. and I have hit the ground running swapping cards. This is the second package I received from him in the last two weeks. On his note he called this an appetizer, but he sent some main course cards.

From what I could tell this was a jumbo card that was team issued back in 63. Awesome!

Brian added a few more vintage cards to my collection.
Can't go wrong with Jason Bay. This low numbered auto is a beaut!

Marte purple refractor from Chrome.

This Burnett is a parallel /500.
My first every Tombstone Pizza card.
I love the Pepper card. The cow milking is a little odd.
 More pizza!
I really like the Cutch card where is squaring up to bunt. This is something that he doesn't even attempt anymore. When he came up he was batting leadoff and utilizing his speed more. Not he is more of a run producer middle of the lineup guy.
A nice mix of Classic Best cards.

You can never have enough Van Slyke cards.

Stargell Kellogg's card is a nice addition. You will go cross eyed if you look at it too long.
End with a bang!

Thanks for the great cards Brian. I'm looking forward to your group break and have been accumulating Twins to send your way.

If you haven't already please go check out Brian's blog. He is a great trader and a Twins fan. Send him all those Twins you've been burying the last few years!

  1. My only regret is that the Stargell was Corn Flakes instead of Corn Pops.

  2. That Groat is an 47-66 Exhibit card.

I had a link that described them and gave some history on identifying the year, but damned if I can't find the site now. :(

  3. Awesome stuff Matt. Love the Tombstone and Kellogs cards the best. Oddball cards always seem to sing out to me.

    1. I enjoy getting them. One of the big perks of blogging has been getting them in trades.

    1. I don't think I have another one of those - the odds of having two copies of it are actually pretty high, though. I had a ton of those Triple Play cards as a kid, and the packs were sometimes repeats - I know I have another "pepper" card floating around...

    2. I'm sure a United Dairy Farmers set is out there somewhere.
