Ready for Cardboard

I usually make the most of my work trips by trying to leave some time to do touristy things. Since I'm sitting in a very quiet Savannah airport I figured I would go ahead and share some pictures from my trip. The bad thing is I'm usually flying solo on my trips so the pictures are poor quality. I rely on my wife to document.  If she would have been with me my 10 pictures would easily be 100.

One of my favorite of the local beers I found.  Plus it was a pretty funny bottle.

Oh my was this good. Pork chop, mac n cheese and collard greens.
Kind of hard to see, but I was wandering aimlessly and found this cool old cemetery. Most of the stones date in the 1700's. I later found out this graveyard was in disarray in the early 1900's, but the daughters of the American Revolution cleaned it up.

Some views of the Spanish moss trees that are so abundant in Savannah.

Overall it was a good trip. Always nice to see a new place, but I'm ready to be home and hang with the family. Also, I have a serious case of cardboard withdrawal.

    1. It is. Plenty of good food and drink, and very walkable.

  2. I haven't been to Savannah in about 18 months. It's a cool city generally.

The big deal is to be there for St. Patrick's Day, where they have the second-largest parade in the US behind Chicago. I went when I was a younger man and went to the weekend before Mardi Gras two weeks earlier. My liver went on strike for a month after that to demand better working conditions.

    1. I heard about the St Patrick's Day parade. I would have never guessed it was the second biggest. Over a million people came last year. They had to shut down traffic. Also didn't realize you could drink on the street. My first night there I was leaving a bar and they asked me if I wanted a beer to go.

  3. I sent an envelope out to you today to help with that withdrawal. You should get it in the next day or so

    1. It is more of your traditional stout. Very smooth and tasty. You would like it.
