In terms of quantity this package was small, but packed a huge punch.
How about a T-205!!!! I've been on a nice little roll lately landing some cool vintage on eBay, but this really puts things on a whole other level. Thanks for sending this my way! Tobacco cards are the coolest.
Mark also threw in these Felipe and Matty Alou cards. Maybe one of you guys can educate me a little more on these releases.
In the mid 2000's up until about 2011 I was a pretty avid Steelers collector. I would keep up with releases and buy a decent amount off eBay. Once I got married I knew a few of my collecting habits had to change for fiscal reasons so I pretty much stopped buying Steelers. Blog trading has helped me fill that desire to still collect the black and gold. I have very little Steelers vintage so adding this Lynn Swann is pretty cool.
To round things out Mark sent this cool Dick Stuart stamp.
Thanks so much for the cards Mark. You really blew me away with the tobacco card. I'll be hitting you back very soon.
That T-205 is a real beauty. Too bad the Angels only go back to 1961.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the benefits of collecting the Buccos. They have a long history which reflects nicely to cardboard.
DeleteThe Alous in question look to be from the 1969 Milton Bradley Baseball Set. Nice T-205!
ReplyDelete^ he beat me to it. I have a thing for card game baseball cards, or whatever you want to call them. However, that T205 definitely steals the show here!
DeleteThanks for the assist guys. I had seen them before on the blogs, but couldn't for the life of me remember what they are.
DeleteThat's a tremendous tobacco card!
ReplyDeleteI've been lucky to add a few via trade over the two years the blog has been active. Mark is one of my favorite trade partners.
DeleteBy the way your package came!
Ditto on your most excellent T-205.
ReplyDeleteCan't have too much awesome vintage NFL as well.
Vintage hockey and football are so cool. Mark has helped me with both!
DeleteFantastic! I wonder if I would take up smoking if that was the only way to get cards...
ReplyDeleteWe would all be chain smokers if they still put cards in cigarettes. The average life expectancy of bloggers would be 20 years less the national average.
DeleteT-205s are works of art.
ReplyDeleteI think I may display this on my desk in my office!
DeleteI've had that t205 in my collection for years. It just didn't seem to fit with the direction my collection was going. I've acquired many RedSox cards from that era. So it was time to give it a different home. There is another one heading out to someone real soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for thinking of me. I'm in the process of getting some stuff together for you. I'm hoping to have something to you by Xmas.
