Ensemble Signatures

If you were a Pirate team collector in the mid 2000's Jason Bay was your guy.  He showed up in every set and was usually the main focus for any auto or relic card.  I don't have an actual tally, but I would be willing to guess that I have more Bay cards than any other Pirate. I probably have 6 months were of posts that I could dedicate to the former Bucco outfielder.  Here is one of my favorites...
2006 Ultimate Collection Ensemble Signatures /25
I know for some Bay kind of ruins this card, but I still love it.  Bay was one of the few reasons to pay attention to the Bucs during this time frame.  Hopefully he becomes Prime Minister of Canada or starts dating someone famous.  I will be in business value wise.

The Buccos exercised their LA demons by taking 3 of 4 from the Dodgers.  It was the first time they have won a series in LA since 2006.  Hopefully this gets them going.

  1. That is a sweet card, Matt. I don't have any of those types of card.

  2. I wouldn't ding that card for having Bay on it since he was pretty much the best Pirate at the time. I love multi-auto cards like this, and especially since the other three were such great players, it really is a fantastic quad. That's gotta be one of the nicer pieces in your collection!

    1. Thanks Dennis. Like I told Tony above, it was one of my first heavy hitters. I love Jason Bay. At some point I will get around to showing off some of my better Bay cards.

  3. Love it! The design is so clean that it's easy to completely overlook the sticker autos. I wish there were more multi-player autos from the mid 00's.

    1. Thanks Mark! High end Pirate hits were hard to find during that time. It was pretty much Bay or best until Freddy Sanchez got a couple a few years later.

  4. Great card. Pictures of Parker like that with his hat are a big part of my reason for collecting his cards.Bay was the man for a while, he fit in on the card at the time.

    1. I love showing my Parker, Madlock and Oliver autos because of that reason. They have some of the best uniform pics that you can find.

    1. Ultimate collection had a bunch of multiplayer autos mixing new or old. Might be a fun ebay search to see what's out there.

  6. I love this card and have one too. I said in one of my posts highlighting it that I wish AVS was on it too to show over 5 decades of Bucs fan favorites
