Finest

Today marked the first day I attempted resistance exercise since my surgery.  Right now I feel good, but most likely around 3am I will want to chop off my leg.  It will be nice to get back in the routine. A smart person cuts back calorie intake when they become inactive, me not so much.  I enjoy food and not exercising gave me even more time to enjoy it.

2014 Finest Gregory Polanco Auto /125

Normally as a rule I stay away from new releases until the market settles a little bit. I've been bending my own rule with Polanco autos lately.  He was on fire the first month he was up, but the pitching adjusted and he has had a hard time readjusting to it.  Most think he is just worn out from playing the most games he has ever played in one season.  The same thing happened to guys like Mike Trout and Troy Tulowitzki when they first got a taste of the big leagues.  Lets hope Gregory follows suit.

In terms of cards Polanco has seen a little dip since the early summer.  The above Finest auto was purchased for around $13 if my memory serves me correctly.  Just goes to show why you should never buy cards of a prospect around the time he makes his big league debut.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Great news-I have been in the position a few times after some knee surgeries and I know how hard it is to get going.

    1. I'm sure it was tough with the knees. I have all kinds of bad habits I need to get rid of to get back to where I was, but this was a good start.

    1. I love them! Just wish the box prices would come down so I could open some.

At least you can cherry pick some big names for reasonable prices.

  3. Wow. Nice purchase. Your $13 card is probably worth more than the contents of my $89 Finest box break.

  4. And here I was, finding all the base set cards of that I could handle in a 20 for $2.50 box.

When you figure out how to get motivated for workouts, tell me. I need it.

    1. That is a pretty good deal for Finest base! Have you opened any Finest? I want to so bad, but it just doesn't seem like you get good bang for your buck.

Working out sucks. People who are motivated to workout are just the worst. I'm miserable every second that I'm in a gym.

    2. I'd tell those people that for all they know they're as likely to die while you sit on your ass eating donuts for 20 more years.

Also, Finest has some goofy looking inserts but the autos like your Polanco look good, nice pickup!

    3. That is the truth.

The base set and autos have a nice look.....haven't looked to much at the inserts. I'll probably never buy a box as the price always seems a little high for what you get.
