I Now Own the Greatest Cheese Board Ever

I've been the fortunate recipient of some very unique and memorable gifts since I started blogging. A recent gift from Peter from Baseball Every Night may take the cake.....or cheese....

That is a customized Bob Walk cheese cutting board.  It might as well be covered in diamonds with the Walk card being built into it.  If they bring back the show Cribs and I happen to be on it, you bet your ass I'm showing this off first.  Nothing says opulence like a Bob Walk cheese cutting board.  It will only be used when I acquire the rarest cheeses in the world.  Maybe I'll have my pal Kevin send me some French cheese, but that may not be rare enough.  It would have to be cheese from a one eyed pygmy goat made by monks. Get on that Kevin.

Now that I own this work of art, I wonder what else I can throw a Walk card in to make it better. Maybe all my formal dinnerware should showcase the greatest athlete of all time. I feel like I'm on to something here. I'm going to call a patent attorney...go about your business. I thought of it first, or I guess second. Thanks Peter!

Christies or Sotheby's

I'll give you a second as you wipe the drool off of your keyboard. Is this not the greatest thing you've ever seen? Someone give me a high five.

If you show this Walk card at any Hawaiian strip club you get free admission.  Did you know that Walk owns every Pacific Coast League pitching record? Pretty amazing stuff.

This was actually part of a large COMC order, but this card had to be memorialized with its own post. All hail Walk.

Rediscover Greatness

What I'm about to show you will boggle your mind. These may send my daughter to college one day. You want to see what a recession proof investment looks like....

You've probably refreshed the page several times thinking all these cards can't be on one post. Well my friends it is true, these rediscover Topps cards are as real as real can get.  These came courtesy of Brian of Collecting Cutch fame as a runner up prize for his contest last month in which you showcased your favorite cards of your favorite player.  He sent me a mega box full of all kinds of Pirate goodness that will take me some time to scan.  It was definitely WOW worthy.

I was aware of the Rediscover Topps cards but really hadn't paid attention to the different tiers. From most common to rarest here are the levels.
Bronze
Silver
Gold
Blue
Red
Any Bob Walk card

As you can all Bob Walk cards supersede whatever checklist you follow.

Bobblechair Greatness

On Twitter today I posted this picture.

This was a giveaway several weeks back on a weekend where I couldn't make it up to Pittsburgh.  I was super bummed.  Well, eBay to the rescue!

 I applaud the marketing folks for the Pirates with the taking a unique/funny moment and running with it.  My only complaint is that this doesn't look much like Walk, but beggars can't be choosers.

Had to Show This Off

I didn't plan on posting tonight, but a card that Dennis from Too Many Verlanders sent me really got my attention.  Check this out.....

An uncut Score/Pinnacle Promo with the legend himself on the bottom right.  I will soon donate this to the Smithsonian so the masses can view this work of art.  I'll do some more research when I do a more formal post for Dennis's trade package, but I think these were National Convention giveaways.

Good ol' Bob Walk!  This is a 1/1 from the Leaf Memories set.  I picked this up on Ebay right before Christmas for 10 bucks.  Always fun to find random gems such as these for a reasonable price.

Anybody open up any of the "new" Donruss set?  I've heard a lot of people claiming Panini did a terrible job of separating the cards.  People who opened up multiple boxes were getting the same relic or auto several different times.  Looked like a fun set and the price is not outrageous, but early reviews seem so so.

My friends and I are opening a few boxes this week so I should have some new trade bait to post this week!
