Bob Walk the Plank turned 3 yesterday!

I like blog milestones because it gives me a reason to do a contest. Having a contest always motivates me to send out a bunch of cards. I'm sitting on a decent amount of trade bait, so depending on who wins the contest I may already have something to send.

I'll only choose one winner as my blogging birthday is going to be fairly close to my 1000th post which I have something bigger in scope in store. Like I said above I have so many cards right now that many of my regular trade partners will receive some sort of package no matter what. The winner will just receive something a little extra special.

As per all my other contests you just need to comment below.  You can tell a joke, leave a recipe, say hi or make fun of me personally.  It all works the same. No more than 1 entry. I'll end the contest on Friday.

Also, no need to promote the contest. It can be an intimate affair! Let's celebrate!

Extreme Dinner

Tonight I went out with my wife and daughter for a birthday dinner. One of the local restaurants was still offering some high end Oktoberfest entrees so we decided to give it a try.

Like any good German dinner you have plenty of tubular meat to go along with a few different potatoes. The extreme part is in the glass.  Maybe you are thinking a nice sauce for the roast pork.......nope try a big shot of Jagermeister.  This is what happens when you combine some themed dining and a college town.

I have no shame.

Wolverine and I Have This in Common

It seems that I share a birthday with Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman.

Nothing too fancy going on at the headquarters of Bob Walk the Plank.  My big gift was the Lexus Club tickets for the Pirates game at the end of September.  Some coworkers took me out for a couple of drinks after work today to celebrate which is always nice. For all you beer nerds out there this was on tap....

If you like bourbon barrel stouts this is about as good as it gets.

2000 Fleer Showcase Legacy /20

1999 UD Encore /125

Two cards that are right up my alley! I'll probably give the 1999 UD the win because of the Jason Kendall cameo. Plus you can always tell the crap turf of Three Rivers Stadium.

For rarity, the Showcase card was a good find.  I don't hide the fact that I love inserts and parallels from this time period.  Finding a Legacy parallel is a pretty big deal since they are numbered to 20. They just have a more boring look than the traditional UD Encore parallel.

It feels weird to have no baseball today.  I think I'll have another beer! Any recommendations?
