Second Baseman Sixtuplet Auto

2012 Panini Signature Series 6 Autos /5

This is one of my favorite cards from the past few years.  It has a few flaws with the lack of license and stickers, but overall the card really pops in person.  This is probably my second best Maz auto next to a patch auto from one of the first Upper Deck Ultimate Collection sets.  Patches for the old time guys are hard to come by.

I was watching this card for a long time thinking that it would go off high, but in the end I paid around $75 if my memory serves me correctly.  While that is a lot of money to pay for one card, I actually thought that was a reasonable price for such a high end card.  If this was a Topps product the price would have been way north of $100.

It was also exciting for me to obtain my first Sandberg auto.  Growing up Sandberg was one of my favorite players as I was able to watch him play on WGN.  Good memories of watching Ryno, Hawk and Mark Grace.

Hope everybody is having a good weekend.  I've enjoyed watching all the boxes of Allen & Ginter getting busted.  I may have to see if I can join in the fun next year.  Thanks for reading.

  1. $75? I think in spite of no license, etc it is a steal at $75.

    1. Thanks Brady! I had a little buyers remorse when I first got it, but knew it was probably a good deal.

  2. Just go ahead and create an album on SCA called "Stuff everyone will be jealous of" if you're gonna keep posting ridiculous cards like this.

    1. Thanks Dennis! I like this one too. Like I was telling Brady above, sometimes I have a little buyers remorse on cards like this, but I'm happy I pulled the trigger. I really think it was a good deal.

    4. I have a few Doerr autos. He must have signed a bunch of stuff. Their actually cheap and easy to find

    5. He signed a bunch for Upper Deck in the mid 2000's. He was on a lot of cards with Mazeroski. Either way it is a cool auto.

    1. It was the first time I've ever seen that card. Gerrit Cole had quite a few combo cards like this, but this was the first I've seen of Maz.

  6. Six big names. #'d to 5. Wow. $75 seems like a steal. Great pickup. The Schoendienst and Mazeroski signatures are awesome. Love how you can see each of the letters in their autographs.

    1. Thanks Fuji! I was happy with all the autos minus Sandberg. He seemed to be intoxicated when signing my card.
