Always Something New

When I trade with John from Johnny's Trading Spot I'm sure to receive a pile of unique Pirates. It seems that John has just as many Pirate cards as myself! This time around John hooked me up with a lot of newer Buccos and a few of my early 2000's favorites.

Let's start things off with a psychedelic Kendall.  97 Fleer was a crazy set full of weird designs. Most people seem to not like it. All I know is that this Kendall is awesome. Jason Kendall is a cardboard god!

 Diecuts!
Numbered to 1999. This one didn't scan well.  It is pretty sharp in person.

Donruss was subtle with their brand placement.....

The Honus and Pops are both super cool here.
Some of my favorite guys here.  Jack Wilson was one of the longest tenured Pirates in the last 20 years. I loved watching him play defense.

John sent me a good bit of Bowman. The Taillon's are the big gets here.  Man oh man, was Tony Sanchez a huge bust.

John was nice enough to send a nice group of the 2017 flagship Pirates. The Polanco was by far the best photo of any of the Buccos.

If I recall correctly I don't think Bay even hit a homerun in the derby that year.  The Aki Iwamura signing by the Buccos turned out to be a disaster.

I think this may have been my favorite card of the bunch.  I forgot how thick these prospect cards were.  Also, it was impossible to miss the serial numbering on these.

John is even sending me WVU cards now!

I'm always looking for new to me Freddy Sanchez cards. It has been a long time since I've added one. When I saw this one I thought I had it, but it was a different parallel.  New Sanchez!

Thanks for all the cards John. I'll be sure to hit you back soon.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I'm glad that you pointed out that Donruss was the maker of that one card. I was scratching my head trying to figure that out.
