For the most part my area is accustomed to dealing with snow. With that being said their is nothing you can do when you get close to two feet in less that 24 hours. Check out some of these pictures.
The final tally for my area was around 20-22 inches. Some of the poor souls who live in the eastern panhandle got the full blunt of the storm with some receiving over 40 inches.
The last couple of days the weather has improved with temperatures getting in the 40's. Now we get to see that disgusting looking half melted snow/slush until March.
I'm off to the WVU basketball game tonight. The Mountaineers are still in the top 10! Let's Go!
Thanks for reading.
I mentioned this on Twitter. I was in San Francisco anxiously watching the coverage and hoping it wouldn't hit Atlanta. It dusted Atlanta, and some mountain areas got up to 6-8 inches of snow here.
ReplyDeleteThat said, one local news station *literally* had TWENTY-FOUR people covering ... less than an inch of snow. Hyperbole does no one any good, except the ratings gods.
Enjoy your game tonight!
I guess it is nice for the weather people there to cover something other than stifling summer heat.
DeleteNJ took a beating too. I'm looking forward to the spring after that storm. I don't mind getting one massive snowstorm each year, but I hate when it snows a few inches every week. Give me one massive multiple foot snow dumping and I am OK.
ReplyDeleteI live close to my work so it doesn't effect me as much, but this storm was so big that it made driving impossible.
DeleteWe had around 30 inches in Clark, NJ. I hope we don't get anything like it again.
ReplyDelete30!!! Yikes...Thankfully the weather has been warmer the last couple of days here. The melt has begun
DeleteWe managed to escape with only 8" just south of Boston. Enjoy the game.
ReplyDeleteAfter the winter you guys had last year you deserve a reprieve.
DeleteGreat shot of the moon! Been a mild first winter in Michigan and I am NOT complaining! stay warm!
ReplyDeleteOurs had been mild too until this storm. Leading up to Christmas it was close to 60 degrees.
DeleteI got exactly zero inches down here, stay ward bud
ReplyDeleteAny houses for sale around you.....?
DeleteGot nothing out here in southwest Ohio either, although our local news had someone camped out and reporting live every five minutes at the salt pile for downtown Cincinnati getting a half-inch of snow.
ReplyDelete"Let's go live to Bob at the salt pile! Anything new there Bob?"
"No Tom, nothing new to report. The trucks are still parked and there's no snow on the ground. Back to you!"
It wouldn't have been so bad for us, but the storm gave us a second dose on Saturday as well.
