The Spoils of War

I believe my guests are feeling the effects of a WVU night game so I have some time to get caught up on some Jaybarker priority boxes.

When you become a veteran of Wes's bombings not much phases you. You just assume if it can fit in a box, it is possible it may be sent.  Our trades started out innocent enough. Wes sent me cards and I reciprocated.  I'm not sure where the turning point occurred, but at some point Wes decided to put his foot on the gas in our dealings and we've never looked back.

This is the damage from two Priority Mail Boxes. Yes, that is a game used jersey.

A full game used jersey of former Pirate Jimmy Anderson. Words escape me when I get items like this. I'm not shocked anymore, but I think I have enough jerseys to field a team. What a great item.

I was in the market for a new wallet. This should work just fine.  It was a big day if you got to go to Chuck E Cheeses as a kid.  As an adult Dave and Busters is the way to go.  Ski ball and beer!

A very old Steelers bobble head.

I think Giant Eagle has made enough Pirate items over the years that you could solely focus a collection on their releases. I feel like this would look good at my work office.

Probably the single greatest bobble head to ever be created.  I'm hoping Bob does one of the offseason Pirate caravans that head to Morgantown ever year.  This seems like a good item to get signed.

I now know what I can carry my lunch in.

Of course Wes and I still do trade cards on occasion....

Wes always has a flair for the dramatic.

Every vintage Steeler I own is thanks to other bloggers. I think Wes has helped me fill up several binder pages himself.

War does build character.  This made me laugh.  What a great old card.

Wes has really studied his former Mountaineers.

The Prizm Jerry West is awesome. Also love the Mike Fox featuring the early 90's WVU uniform prominently.

Super disappointed Kevin White got hurt again.  He can't seem to catch a break.  Word is he'll probably get back this year at least...

I believe these Gold Rush cards were hobby shop giveaways.

Die Cuts are the best. Love this Jose Guillen.

Anybody need a Curtis Strange card.  I now have a few.
 Or a Larry Cox......

Jerry Porter was one of the best athletes in WVU history.  He played both sides of the ball at WVU.

I remember reading a story about these Aqueous Test cards.  I guess they were originally created as a way to improve the printing process.  Eventually some reached the open market.  This is by far the coolest 1990 Donruss card I own!

Thanks for all the great items Wes.  That jersey was amazing.  The good thing I just found some more stuff to hit you back!

    1. Not everyday you get game used jerseys in a trade. JBF is insane.

  2. Man cool jersey. That old card is really cool as well. Doesn't have to be a sport one.
