On the right is none other than Bob Walk himself doing the post game show for Root Sports. My goal will be to one day have him mention Bob Walk the Plank on the broadcast. Here are few more pics of the game today.
As you can it was a beautiful day for baseball!
Now some blog business. Yesterday in the mail I received another package from vintage master himself Mark Hoyle. I've lost track how many times we swapped, but we are just getting to the point where we email each other to give a heads up to expect another package. This envelope was extra special as it contained a big surprise. Check it out.
I think Mark has pretty much completed the Pirates team set for me in the 74 set. The colorful miscut of Parker is great and the Reggie Jackson/Pops card is so cool it deserved its own scan. I've mentioned before that Topps should bring back the oversized TRADED emblem for guys that are moved during the season.
The big surprise Mark sent me was all the great 72-73 vintage hockey cards. I'm a big Penguins fan and have been to a lot of games over the years. My brother is a season ticket holder so I usually have access to tickets when I want to go. I don't have much in way of hockey cards but have a few autographed pucks displayed in my basement. Maybe sometime this Winter I'll have a Bob Walk the Plank hockey day and display them.
How cool were the old Penguins jerseys? Every now and again the Penguins breakout the throwbacks during the season. I love the awkwardly posed photos and the great 70's hairstyles.
Thanks again Mark for all the great cards and the awesome Penguins surprise. A return package is going out in tomorrows mail.
On a side note I believe I'm all caught up on trade posts. If anybody wants to trade just email me at email@example.com.
Thanks for reading.
