Adrian Brown 2000 Pacific Premiere Date /37
Premiere Date parallels are probably the least sexy of the Pacific brands line of parallels and inserts. While people will pay hundreds of dollars for Cramer's Choice Awards and Reflections, Premieres tend to be quite affordable. Often times $5 will be enough for everyone minus the premium stars.
These cards always appeal to me because Pacific featured a lot of Pirates that came and went in the blink of an eye. Brown was drafted in the 48th round (!!!!) so he didn't get a ton of love. He managed to carve out a bit of a career in the early 2000's so some of the bigger sets gave him a few releases.
I paid a shade over $2 and utilized a sellers combined shipping to nab a few for a couple of trade partners!
Long live Pacific!!!!
Long live Pacific!
ReplyDeleteI know right! I bought so many growing up as some of the Topps and UD premium sets were too much.
DeleteI admit: I am still trying to figure out the Pacific parallels and base sets 3 years after starting to try to figure them out. The design on this set isn't bad -- I kind of like the gold bottom border on it.
ReplyDeleteI think with me it just takes me back to when I first started to buy my own cards. It just so happens that they have become desirable now for the shear fact that they were undesirable at the time of release.
DeleteCrown/Royale were the only Pacific cards I recall liking. I'm not too familiar with them other than what comes in trade packages. I never bought them so rarely receive a double. All are fairly new to my collection.
ReplyDeleteThe Crown Royale cards are probably the most desirable of the Pacific lineup. Lots of cool inserts.
