2017 Panini Absolute Football Tools of the Trade Auto Relic /10
I loved the baseball version of Tools of the Trade in the early/mid 2000's. It was a little ahead of its time as people were still happy just to get a plain relic early on. Now as the relic card has gone stale in the eyes of most collectors its nice to see being utilized. albeit in football form.
Recently I found a seller that was liquidating a huge Eagles collection. Normally something like this wouldn't interest me, but the Eagles have been rostering a bunch of former Mountaineers. When I saw this auto/relic of former WVU running back Wendell Smallwood I knew I had to have it.
The idea with Tools of the Trade is that it would feature some unique pieces of memorabilia. I'm pretty sure the top right is part of a cleat and the bottom is a glove. Not 100% sure about the top left, but I think it is a sock. I should do a little research to figure that out for sure.
See, relic cards can still be fun! Just wish the card would actually list what type of memorabilia is featured like the old baseball version.
Thanks for reading!
Wow...that Smallwood card is loaded! Great card!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool card, bummer they didn’t list what each item is.
ReplyDeleteThe original Tools of Trade is still the best
ReplyDeleteLoved the concept behind Tools of the Trade memorabilia cards. Who doesn't love game used hats, cleats, jerseys, pants, gloves, and bats?
