Rare 10k

You remember these? If you pulled one of these back in the day you were big stuff.

I believe I purchased this in a lot of Pirate cards back in the early fall. Little did they know that numbering cards would be such a huge deal.  Being numbered to 10,000 at this time gave the perception of extreme rarity and classiness. This number would be laughed at in today's collecting environment.

Back to sorting....

  1. Yeah, but it's number 4474 of 10,000. So if you subtract 4474 from 10k you get 5526. 5+5+2+6 equals 18. 18 plus the card number of this card (31) gives you 49. 4 times 9 is 36, which is the total number of cards in this set.

So you have an ebay 1/1!!!!!!!!!!

    1) get card
    2) list on ebay
    3) apply Jeff's logic
    4) ??????
    5) PROFIT!

    1. Just let me know when you are holding your information session on how to "PROFIT." Seems like one of those seminars that would be held at the airport Holiday Inn.

    2. Jeff's right. You just need to list it as "Barry Bonds non auto RC SP short print PSA 10? HOF? HR record" and you'll get so many offers you'll have to create a new email account.

  2. When you compare 10,000 to the number of 1992 Barry Bonds base Donruss cards produced it actually is about as rare as #/99 these days. #junkwax
Oh, and good luck with the sorting... I imagine you have much carnage to collate after that war with JBF!

    1. My desk is a mess for sure. The bad thing is I was only looking at cards I neglected in the time he was sending me stuff. I may need to take on an employee during the holiday season to sort through all the JBF cards.

  4. Great card. It took me over 2 decades to finally add one to my collection. 10,000 is such an insane number in today's hobby. The thing that baffles me is that these are still pretty difficult to find. Not saying they're rare... because 10k is far from rare. But I track a bunch of Rickey Henderson autographs and some are numbered to less than 50 and there will be four to six of the fifty in existence listed on eBay. I'd be surprised if there were four to six of these Bonds cards listed on eBay right now.
