Blog Bat Around - All Auto Team Non Pirates (That Also Feature Pirates)

I knew I wanted to do a non Bucco version of Zippy's Blog Bat Around.  After going through some cards I noticed that I had enough dual autos that I could give it a Pirate twist.  The hard part was the pitching.  Not many dual autos exist of the 70's Pirates so I had to rely on Gerrit Cole prospect cards. While the staff is weak, this offense can rake.

  1. "P - Johnny Cueto" Oops! You misspelled "Rich Hill" there. I'll let it slide because your multiplayer autograph collection is 100% ridiculous.

    1. That was actually a really close race. Hill has been better recently but Cueto for the long haul.

  2. You chose David Wright over Miguel Cabrera? Also, nice squad lol.

    1. I actually chose both. Had two different variations. Miggy gets the start!

  3. That is such a wonderful collection, and great idea, that I might overlook the fact that you picked Morgan over Doerr.

    1. Hahaha...I did take Fisk over Bench eventhough the stats say otherwise!

    2. Doerr was in pretty tough company on that card.

  4. First and foremost, your multi-auto game may be unparalleled. But Reggie Jackson doesn't even get mentioned? He's the throwaway autograph on that Robinson/Reggie/Kiner card. Crazy.

    1. One of the unwritten rules was not to use the same card twice....Sorry Reggie, I needed Frank.

    1. Putting a Pirate on most of them made it affordable! Want a cheap Joe Mauer auto....throw Freddy Sanchez on it.

  6. Amazing cards.

I think I'd play Wright or Cey at third, move Miggy to first, put Frank Robinson in the OF and sit Jones, but that's just me.

    1. That is a good idea. I'm going to get fired as a manager.

  7. While we're second-guessing you're picks (lol), Fisk over Bench behind the plate, eh?

    1. Bench is better....just like the Fisk card better since it has Maz on it.

  8. Don't think I've ever seen so many combination autographs in a single post. I've been trying to build a few different All Autograph teams... and this is a great idea... but there's no way, I have enough combo autos in my collection. Super jealous.

    1. The only real splurge was the Jeter/Griffey/Bay. All the others were very cheap because the Pirate on them bring down the value. Guys like Maz and Kiner have a lot out there so they never command big bucks.

  9. Is it bad that my first takeaway from this post was, 'I miss Johan Sanatana'... hahahaha sweet collection!

    1. He was soooo good. He basically had a Sandy Koufax short/awesome peak, but just doesn't get the love that Sandy does.

  10. Now that's taking it to another level....or two...or three.
